[ Got a question..? ]

  • Anyone can come along to one of our events.

Having been on a number of events like this before, we can honestly say the range of people and experience is huge.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just picked up your first camera - please come along. You’ll be made welcome no matter what your experience, interest or equipment.

    Please note:

    • Under 18’s are welcome but will require adult supervision by responsible person(s) known to them.

  • There is absolutely NO COST from us for you to attend our events. We are a non-profit group with no membership or commitment requirements - its all for the fun and connections we can make.

    Note:

    • You will need to cover the cost of your own film & developing.

    • Please be aware that there may sometimes be entry fees, car parking, refreshments, food or other costs that will need to be met by you.

    • Costs which are known up-front (ie entry into a special event) will be clearly detailed in the information on our events pages.

  • Our events are aimed at individuals who have a basic knowledge of photography as we do not run classes.

HOWEVER…. at our events there will be people on-hand with knowledge and experience who will be willing to answer any questions you may have. Whether these be on your equipment, lighting, film, developing, subject matter etc, etc… PLEASE just ask.

Photographers are a friendly bunch and are more often than not very willing to share information and knowledge.

You won’t be left high and dry on the day irrespective of your level of knowledge or what camera you bring with you!

  • ANY camera will do…

Although our community is aimed at the use of analogue (film) cameras, if all you have is a digital or your phone then please don’t let this put you off. We want our events to be inclusive and it’s likely that you will be able to use/borrow or experience a film camera on the day if you don’t have one.

For those with film or instant cameras - the quirkier the better!!

It doesn’t matter if you shoot colour, black & white, slide or instant film - it’s great to see a variety being used on our events!

  • We will always try to arrange our events with access to some form of transport link. Whether this be bus stop, train station or car park - hopefully you’ll be able to arrange suitable travel with this in mind.

  • Our events are intended to facilitate the interaction between people with a shared interest.

ALL attendees are required to be courteous and welcoming and anyone showing disrespect or offence during an event will be asked to leave.

To prevent anyone finding themselves in a one-on-one scenario out on the streets, our Photowalk events will only go-ahead if there are more than 4 pre-booked attendees who don’t know each other. This hopefully gives some peace-of-mind about not being alone with people you are unfamiliar with.
[e.g. if a group of three friends are the only ones attending then the event will go ahead. If three strangers are booked then the event will not.]

Our Mental Health Meet-ups are not book-able and people are free to arrive and leave as they please. These events are held in publicly accessible places such as a coffee shop or pub so there will always be other people in the vicinity. Numbers of attendees are not guaranteed on these events.

  • Yes of course!!!

Events are totally flexible. You stay for 30 mins or the whole event - it’s entirely up to you.

All we ask is that if you do want or need to leave early, please just let us know so we don’t spend the rest of the day looking for you!

If you can’t make the start time - just pop along and catch us up!

  • There is no catering provided but our events are planned so there will be opportunities for you to purchase food or drinks along the way.

You’re also more than welcome to carry whatever supplies you feel you may need on the day. Just don’t overload yourself with unnecessary weight to carry around!

  • It’s never ideal and always disappointing to have to cancel an event… We will endeavour to go-ahead as planned unless the forecast is so bad that it will make the event untenable or unenjoyable.

On these occasions, we will notify everyone as soon as possible via email or mobile phone number used on their booking.

That said - please keep an eye on the forecast so YOU know what to expect and pack for!

Also - why not set up a notification alert for our instagram page as we will also send updates of this nature via our social media channel.

  • Camera!!

But don’t forget your film(s), batteries, light meter etc… In fact, don’t forget ANY other accessories you may want to use on the day!

    It’s always a good idea to also consider;

    • Clothing/footwear - wear whatever you’d normally wear for a days’ walking. Good shoes are a must!

    • Bottle of drinking water - stay hydrated!

    • Cash/cards for drinks/food, car parking, travel etc.

    • Don’t forget your glasses, medication & mobile phone

    • Check the weather forecast

    • And in the words of Baz Luhrmann… wear sunscreen!

  • We Aim to make all our events as accessible as possible for everyone. However, we are limited by the quality of the roads and footpaths etc that will form our route. There may be steps, slopes, unmade paths etc but we will try to give more details on each event/route on its particular events page.

If we can identify an alternative route for certain sections we will do.

Access to toilet facilities. Please use public facilities and/or coffee shops/restaurants where possible. we do not provide facilities or guarantees there will be any available or open during our event due to individual premises opening hours and policies.

  • Each event will differ based upon location and route chosen. However, we try to plan for a route that will last between 2-4 hours. This is long enough for most people and gives the opportunity to have a social meet-up at the end too.

Each event will have an approximate duration given but this will depend on the group, weather and other factors on the day.

The pace is dictated by those attending the event and will usually be at a VERY relaxed pace with lots of stops.

  • That’s entirely up to you!!

The photos are yours, you’re the photographer and you own the copyright… If you want to share on social media then you’re free to do so.

AnalogueFilm will be taking pictures and uploading them to our instagram ( @analogue_film ) so please feel free to tag us/share etc so we can learn from each other and build the community further.
